I've been working since 2003 as an information architect, interaction designer, UX producer and instructional designer. My clients range from small startups to large corporations with millions of users.
I design innovative, human-friendly interfaces. I create products that are functional, useful and successful.
I am used to be part of an international environment, as I have been working in many different places around the world.
I am fluent in English and Italian, and I can speak German at a basic level.
Training course: Axure RP Pro 6
I offer advanced, master-level training
courses and consultancy on Axure RP Pro, the most advanced prototyping software on the market. The
training
can be held in-site or remotely.

User research & product development
I can conduct interviews and observation of people in
their work
environment (also called ethnographic research), in
order to
identify the specific target of the people to address the
services to, and investigate on how they are going to use new products.
I produce user-centered requirements
to drive design decisions throughout the whole product lifecycle.
Wireframes & interactive prototypes
I develop highly interactive prototypes for any device,
including mobile phones.
Prototypes allow to demonstrate and discuss the functionality and test
the product before the development cycle starts, in order to
reduce costs significantly.
Prototypes can include annotations and functional
specifications in an interactive format, so that developers
and other
stakeholders know what the
requirements are.
Usability analysis & testing
Assessments based on usability best practices
(heuristics,
guidelines) and competitors analysis.
Usability testing sessions with real users and editing
of video highlights.
In my career, I've carried out usability testing
for many clients including eBay/PayPal, Springer, T-Mobile, Post
Office, RAC,
SAGIA, Unilever.
E-commerce usability
Guidance on all the best practices to make an e-commerce site
user-friendly.
Information architecture
Knowledge organization and retrieval:
navigation,
controlled vocabularies, taxonomies, search results display and
prioritization.
Semantic-oriented strategies: ontologies and shared
vocabularies.
Search engine optimization and marketing.
Web analytics: analysis of users' browsing behaviour
and
integration of the user experience and business objectives.
Visual design
Making a product effective and easy to understand also involves a
very good knowledge of non verbal communication, such as the visual
variables
that influence perception.
I've studied visual design, hence I can create a winning combination of a good
content strategy and an effective presentation layer.
Instructional design & educational
I have a strong experience as an author and user experience designer
for scientific products, such as multimedia and
e-learning courses.
I am also very interested in the design of interfaces in the
educational
context, such as e-books, but also for museums and and in general, instructional
products to be delivered via portable devices.
Semantic technologies and metadata management
I am very interested in topics related to the organization
of knowledge through semantic languages, technologies and conventions,
that can make user interfaces closer and closer to the humans and their
needs.
I studied technologies such as RDF, topic maps, microformats,
Docbook, DITA, etc.. Even though I am not an expert on such
topics, yet I am very interested in this field and would be happy to expand
my knowledge in such direction if the opportunity comes.
